History
In 1983 there were nine mapping companies in Ontario. Based upon the changes in
the photogrammetric mapping industry during the 1990's, Photomap Air Surveys Limited,
a leader in digital mapping and GIS, was able to acquire three other companies.
The company acquired Vector Mapping in 1995, Meridian Mapping Services
(1994) Limited in May, 1998 and Northway Map Technology Limited in
July, 1998. The resulting company, Northway-Photomap Inc. has been operating
since July 10, 1998.
The roots of Northway-Photomap Inc. has its origin in one of the largest
privately-owned surveying and mapping companies in Canada, established
originally in 1946 as The Photographic Survey Corporation.
